hiya Coffee Cup,

Where is the time going?

Since my last post we had Spring, Summer and Fall. And we’re back to Winter here in Copenhagen. Ugh.

Well, that feels apt for an episode about ChatGPT, another shall we say variable part of my daily life, lol.

Let’s get to it!

Be careful

I don’t cover the legal aspect of ChatGPT or other LLMs but it looks like

does. This issue in particular is informative. And lawsuits in the U.S. are heating up. If you’re not in the U.S., comment below and let me know if things are taking a turn in that direction where you are as well yet.

So PLEASE people, use these tools carefully.

Use your own work with ChatGPT: podcast transcripts

I find the best ways to use ChatGPT and other LLMs it to massage your own work, not have it create something from scratch. This episode is where I take a transcript from Solo Worklife Meditations and ask Chatty to do a few specific things with it for the new episode part of the

newsletter.

Listen to the episode:

  • audio and transcript (above) AND on all podcast apps under “Coffeelike Experiments…”

  • YouTube: click on the video below

    Prompts (in order):

  • you are a newsletter marketing expert. I need your help in creating part of a newsletter. ready?

  • I want some fresh ideas on how to write the new episode announcement part of the newsletter. this is the 2nd of 4 parts to the newsletter. Please use the below transcript to create the following: 1. 1-2 sentence summary of the episode 2. 1 powerful quote from the episode 3. a quick 5 point outline on how this episode is useful TRANSCRIPT: (copy and paste here)

  • what would Katy Perry say about this episode?

  • how about Harry Styles. 1 sentence only

  • use a quote NOT from the transcript

  • what joke would Trevor Noah say about this episode?

  • make a poem from the episode

  • make a haiku from this episode

Main Takeaways:

  • shorter prompts with more back and forth can get the output closer to what I want quicker while sounding more like me (than an AI) compared to long, super prompts

  • when using transcripts (or other long texts) Chatty might over rely on the text. Be specific if the output sounds too much like the text to get Chatty to change the wording and tone to sound like new text instead.

  • there is no limit to what you can shape your podcast transcripts into. I’ve also done one page, stand alone, lead magnets on more how to episodes.

  • creating fun content about the episode like quotes from famous people, jokes about the episode, haikus and more can enliven the new episode section of a podcast newsletter
